Poolside is a specialty coffee café on Schönhauser Allee — a corner of Berlin where the light moves slowly and the morning is in no rush to become the afternoon.
The space has always had a certain charm — walls left honest and unpolished, art on every surface, long corridors of seating where people come to read, to write, to work, or simply to sit with a cup and let time pass. For years it was a beloved neighbourhood café near Eberswalder Straße, known for tasty food, excellent coffee and a warm, unhurried atmosphere.
Poolside continues that spirit — and gives it a new name, a new palette, and a new chapter.
Our coffee is roasted in Berlin from single-origin beans — an Espresso Peru with notes of chocolate, marmalade and marzipan, and a Filter Peru Geisha that tastes of sweetened peach, fresh grape and jasmine. We pour it with care, and we sell it by the bag so you can take the morning home with you.
Alongside the coffee: slow-fermented sourdough focaccia sandwiches, natural wine, fermented drinks, and desserts made in-house — including a tiramisu we're quietly proud of. Vegetarian, vegan and thoughtful by default.
Poolside is operated by Europe Food Stories GmbH, the team behind Storia, Pizza al Taglio in Berlin-Mitte. We took over this café because we fell for the room, the neighbourhood and the ritual of a good, slow morning — and we wanted to give it the attention it deserves.
